A Food Revolution starting to happen in Bude, North Cornwall

News recently in:  The second BUDE FOR FOOD FESTIVAL takes place between 18th-20th September 2015.  Although food from the artisan producers of the area is the centre piece of the Festival it will also include a restaurant trail, music showcase of some of Cornwall's best musicians, a comedy night when global street food will be highlighted and cooking demonstrations throughout the weekend.  It was the newest and most sensational event of the year in 2014 and is spearheading an image changing revolution for the town itself.  If you want to find out about the fabulous artisan food and drink being produced in North Cornwall and North Devon - fantastically good and exceptional local produce - then you should visit when this event is on.  For more information visit wwwbudeforfood.co.uk  We will certainly be there again this September 'foraging' for the best products to include in our welcome hamper.

The Festival is not the only exciting initiative of the food revolution going on around the Bude area. We can now buy directly from producers who are members of The BUDE FOOD ASSEMBLY.  An order is made online and collected from Bude a few days later.  The variety of food and drink available is impressive and growing all the time. This month there is over 200  different items to buy, everything from organic meat, hand made chocolates, fabulous organic vegetables, beers from micro breweries, fabulous honey,  and dairy produce of exceptional quality and ALL LOCAL.   The Bude Food Assembly was recently voted the BEST FOOD INITIATIVE IN BRITAIN by Radio  4's prestigious 'Food Programme'

So, together with our regular and now long standing  HARTLAND FARMERS MARKET, which takes place the first Sunday of each month, we are able to trade in a completely new way for much of the food and drink we consume here - directly from the growers, brewers, millers, farmers and specialist food producers who live and work in this wonderful part of Devon and Cornwall.  Wow!  It is fantastic.

Together with our community run shop which offers visitors to the Barn the chance to order groceries to be waiting for them when they arrive for their holiday the choice of the very best local food and drink has never been more exciting and more unique to the area.

We are very happy to help you when you want to take advantage of the opportunities to order the best food and drink available here.  We look forward to hearing from you.

And, in keeping with the celebration of good food the photo is of our own organic kitchen garden.
